Press Release on 17th Sept. 2016Review meeting for prevention and control of Dengue and Other Vector Borne Diseases in J&K.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Manmohan Singh, KAS Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation on 16th September 2016, in his Office Chamber to review the measures taken for prevention and control of Dengue and Chicken Gunya etc. Dr. Gurjeet Singh, State Malariologist and Health Officer, JMC were also present in the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting regarding prevention and control of (Vector Borne Diseases) VBD’s including bringing down vector density of mosquitoes, source reduction, sanitation and other issues pertaining to the matter.
Progress of thermal fogging operation which is going on within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation was also reviewed. The Commissioner showed his satisfaction and appreciated the team involved in this operation. He also appealed the public in general to take preventive measures from mosquito bites.
