Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation took review meeting of all the sections of JMC.

Ms. Mandeep Kaur, IAS, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation took detailed review meeting regarding functioning of all the section of JMC. Those who were participated in the meeting include R.S.Jamwal, KAS, Joint Commissioner (A), Joint Commissioner (W), Asstt. Commissioner (Rev), Chief Accounts Officer, Dy. Director Planning, Sr. Town Planner, Executive Engineers (E), (T) & (C), Health Officer, Chief Enforcement Officer, Enforcement Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Law Officer, Naib Tehsildar (Rev), Asstt. Executive Engineers and other staff members from Corporation. At the outset of the meeting the Commissioner sought detailed report from all the sections of JMC in respect of the directions passed in the last review meeting and works done. During the course of meeting the Commissioner issued instructions to the sectional heads to adhere to the directions and complete the assigned works. During the meeting various issued were discussed and Commissioner appreciated that there is a tremendous response due to e-tendering process launched by JMC in transparent manner and Joint Commissioner (W) was instructed that all the works should be completed with stipulated time period. Besides stressed for maintaining the quality of work rendered by Jammu Municipal Corporation and asked the concerned that there should be no use of sub-standard material if any lapse in this regard will be viewed seriously and responsibility shall be fixed on the part the concerned officer/official. CTO was directed to take efficient measures before the onset of monsoon to overcome the problem being faced by locals during the monsoon season as well as to deploy extra men and machinery to de-silt the nallahs and remove encroachments adjoining the nallahs, so that people may not suffer due to flooding as they faced it during the last year monsoon season. The Commissioner has constitute a committee to check the Sewerage & disposal system of Hotels, Banquet Hall, Nursing Homes and Govt. Hospitals. In case they fail to comply the guidelines in respect of proper sewerage disposal action as per Municipal Act shall be taken against them. Commissioner further instructed all the committee members to have vigil on the disposal system and they shall give weekly report. Later on, Municipal Veterinary Officer was directed to prepare inventory of illegal Diaries running in the City without the prior permission from the competent authority and those who were dealing with pet animals as well as pets kept by owners should be registered with JMC. The Commissioner, JMC instructed to all the sectional heads i.e. Health & Sanitation, Engineering Wing, Transport Wing, Enforcement Wing & Veterinary wing to work with coordination, so that maximum efficiency can be achieved in Municipal functions.
