Press Release on 17.04.2017Distribution of Dustbins by Jammu Municipal Corporation
On the instructions of Dr. Manmohan Singh, (KAS) Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation and Sh. R.S. Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A), JMC today Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, in the presence of other sanitation staff of Health Wing distributed dustbins to the shopkeepers at A/D & B/C Block Gandhi Nagar Jammu. On this occasion Sh. Surinder Kumar President Market association Gandhi Nagar was present alongwith their other association members.
The Health Officer JMC appealed the association members to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation and the shopkeepers were asked to collect garbage of their shops in these dustbins and the Safaikaramcharies of the areas will collect the garbage or they can also disposed in the nearby containers / dustbins instead of throwing out of their shops. If anybody found shall be strictly dealt under the provisions of Municipal Corp. Act 2000.
The Health Officer JMC apprised the markets association that these dustbins are being distributed under Swachh Bharat Mission in order to improve the sanitation of these markets.
The sanitation of those areas where the dustbins were earlier provided has been improved too many folds. So the Jammu Municipal Corp. has decided to provide more dustbins in other markets and residential areas also under Swachh Bharat Mission
The shopkeepers association Sh. Surinder Kumar appreciated the steps taken by Jammu Municipal Corp. to make the Jammu clean and green. He also appealed to the shopkeeper to collect the garbage in these dustbin for further disposal so that the roads and lanes remained clean. He also assured their full cooperation to the Jammu Municipal Corporation for the success of swachh bharat mission a big initiative taken by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. The others association members Sh. Ramesh Koul, Ganga Ram, Suraj Parkash, S. Surinder Singh were also present.
