Press Release on 17th October 2017Fogging drive in different areas by Jammu Municipal Corporation
To intensify the ongoing fogging drive, Jammu Municipal Corporation covered areas of Paloura Top, Janipur, Top Sherkhania, Old City, Nanak Nagar, Shaheedhi Chowk, Jewel, Dogra Chowk etc.. The drive was launched by Mr. Rajesh Sharma, (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A), JMC in coordination with Anti Malaria Wing of Health Department, Jammu.
Sufficient number of men and machinery was deployed by Health & sanitation wing / Transport wing of JMC for this drive. During this drive fogging was taken up to avoid the chances of Dengue, as cases of Dengue are on the higher side in Jammu. Jammu Municipal Corporation is taking up the fogging drive in double shifts and the drive is in the fourth phase. Fogging is being done twice in the same areas to eradicate the breeding of mosquitoes responsible for Dengue.
The inhabitants as well as Shopkeepers also assured their whole hearted cooperation to Jammu Municipal Corporation to conduct this kind of activities to make Jammu Dengue free.
The Joint Commissioner (A) JMC appealed the public in general to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in keeping Jammu Clean & Green and also avoid accumulation of water so that Dengue can be eradicated completely.
Among others Chief Transport Officer Mr. Tarik Raina, Health Officer, Dr. Anita Salgotra, Sanitation Officers, Transport officers, staff of Anti Malaria Department were also present during the drive.
