Mr. Ramesh Kumar Commissioner reviews developmental works being undertaken under AMRUT by JMC, Smart City Projects, Intelligent Traffic Light System and Street Lights.

Mr. Ramesh Kumar (IAS), Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted an extensive tour of Jammu City and inspected the ongoing Projects under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) as well as developmental works of the Corporation being executed at different sites viz. Multi-tier Car Parking at Panjtirthi, Multi-tier Car parking at Peerkho, Pedestrian Walkway at Peerkho, Green space at Jeevan Nagar etc. He gave on spot directions to the concerned officers for completion of ongoing developmental works in a time bound manner and also directed them to come up with bottlenecks, if any, for their early resolution.

The Commissioner further stressed upon the completion of the projects being undertaken by JMC under AMRUT, as these projects will play a vital role in making Jammu as one of the Smart City.

The Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation also took stock of different areas where JMC has installed street lights in various wards & main roads in different vicinities. He issued on spot directions to the concerned Officers to make all the street lights functional and undertake repair wherever required. He added that it is the aim of the JMC to make Jammu fully illuminated and free from dark zones.

The Commissioner, JMC further directed the Engineers of Electric Wing of JMC to keep liaison with Power Development Department so that power connections could be given to the street lights to be installed in uncovered areas. He directed the concerned to replace the non-functional street lights on urgent basis.



He further reviewed the progress of installation of Intelligent Traffic Signal Light System (ITS) and gave directions for the commissioning of 20 Nos. new junctions and 15 existing junctions. He asked the executing firm to complete the work within stipulated time frame. He assured M/s. DIMTs of full cooperation from the Corporation in achieving the desired results within the fixed timelines. Mr. Ramesh Kumar, Commissioner, JMC also took review of the works to be undertaken under the Smart City Projects.

Among others Mr. Rajesh Sharma (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A), Mr. Neeraj Gupta (KAS), Chief Accounts Officer, Mr. Ranjit Singh (KAS), Secretary, Mr. Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (W), Dr. Anital Salgotra, Health Officer, JMC and Mr. Tariq Raina, AEE (Transport) were also accompanied during the tour.
