Mr. Arvind Kotwal (KAS), Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted an extensive tour of Jammu City and inspected the ongoing Projects under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) as well as developmental works of the Corporation being executed at different sites. He gave on spot directions to the concerned officers for completion of ongoing developmental works in a time bound manner and also directed them to come up with bottlenecks, if any, for their early resolution.
The Commissioner further stressed upon the completion of the projects being undertaken by JMC under AMRUT, as these projects will play a vital role in making Jammu as one of the Smart City.
The Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation also took stock of different nallahs/deep drains keeping in view the monsoon season and directed the Chief Transport Officer gear up the men and machinery available with the Corporation to combat any situation arising out of rainy season. He also directed the Executive Engineer, UEED to completed the under constructed nallahs so that there could be no hue and cry situation especially in monsoon season.
He further appealed the general public not to throw the construction material into the nallahs which is a main cause of choking resulting into over flowing of the nallahs and sought cooperation of the general public in making the Jammu city neat, clean and green.
Among others Mr. Satinder Singh Rana, Superintending Engineer, UEED, Mr. Mohd. Taj Chowdhary, Executive Engineer, UEED, Mr. Tariq Raina, Chief Transport Officer, JMC etc. were accompanied the Commissioner, JMC during the tour.
