Press Release on 21st December 2018JAMMU MUNICIPAL CORPORATION DEMOLISHES THE UNAUTHORIZED CONSTRUCTIONS
While further continuing and intensifying the drive against the unauthorized constructions, on the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, the Enforcement Staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer under overall supervision of Joint Commissioner (A), Jammu Municipal Corporation have demolished two number of ongoing illegal construction work viz. shop at Shakti Nagar and structure at Gandhi Nagar (structure raised by Ex. MLA).
The said constructions had been raised unauthorizedly and in violation of the building plan. The Jammu Municipal Corporation initiated the action under the provisions of J&K Control of Building Operation Act 1998.
Further, under overall supervision of Secretary Jammu Municipal Corporation, the illegal hoardings were removed from Gujjar Nagar, Panama Chowk, Zorawar Chowk, Gole Market Gadhi Nagar and Satwari etc. which were installed at different rotaries and also removed encroachments made by the shopkeepers by keeping their material outside their shops from the areas viz. Upper Gumat, Gumat stairs, Lower Gumat, Vivekanand Chowk, Sunder Singh Road and Mohalla Paharian, Jammu.
Further, the Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the General Public to refrain from making illegal constructions and get building plans whether commercial / residential approved from Jammu Municipal Corporation otherwise action as admissible under rules leading to demolition / sealing of the building will be taken against the violators and shopkeers are also appealed to keep their material inside the shutter line to avoid any sort of encroachment.
