Satpal Karlupia, Councilor W.No. 32, Sh. Sucha Singh, Councilor W.No. 31, Sh. Parmod Kapai W.No. 14, Sh. Pankaj Magotra, Commissioner, JMC, Sh. Ashish Kumar Gupta, Joint Commissioner (A), JMC, S.Jaspal Singh, Joint Commissioner (W), JMC. Sh. Mohit Mahajan, Executive Engineer (C), JMC, Dr. Suresh Gupta, Health Officer, JMC, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal, MVO, Er. Talat Mehmood, A.E.E (M), JMC laid the foundation stone of Lairage Building at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The construction of this lairage has been initiated by JMC which shall provide facility for resting the sheep & goat prior to their onward transportation to the Abattoirs (Modern Slaughter houses).
In the lairage, animals shall be segregated by rejecting the sick animals and only medically fit animals after proper Anti mortem examination shall be sent to the slaughter houses so that “Fit for Consumption” meat is available in the market for consumers. The resting animals shall be kept under Modern facilities without subjecting to Crueltly and inhumane treatment. The animal waste shall be treated for production of Biogas and Vermicompost in an endavour to fulfill the comentment of JMC towards creating an ecofriendly environment. The lairage has the capacity to accommodate nearly 1000 Sheep & Goat and shall cost Rs. 1.24 Crore with completion period of 04 months.
