Today on 07.02.20, an interaction session/Awareness for implementation of Solid Waste Management and Plastic Waste Management Rules-2016 with Govt. Institutions, Market associations, Resident welfare associations, Hoteliers and Banquet Hall was held under the chairmanship of Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta, Hon’ble Mayor, JMC and Sh. Suraj Parkash Padha, Hon’ble Chairman Swachh Bharat Committee, JMC.
The meeting started with welcome session by Dr. Zaffar Iqbal, Nodal Officer, SWM and a lecture and Presentation made by Sh. Ranvir Singh and Mr. Piyush Bhasin representatives from Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), a Delhi based NGO dealing in waste management. Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner, JMC Ms. Avny Lavasa said that we collectively do our best in coordination with IPCA to adopt some more advanced method to dispose off dry waste from the jurisdiction of Jammu to expedite the process to clean Jammu. She also said that she required co-operation from all households/stakeholders condusive ways for collection from the door step.
Mon’ble Mayor thanked all present and said that collective efforts are required to bring Jammu among 10 Cleanest Cities of India.
In the interaction session, prominent persons of the City discussed problems of the city and Hon’ble Mayor sought their solution and assured that JMC will always put its best foot forward.
