Jammu Municipal Corporation today started plantation drive under “Clean and Green Jammu” as an initiative to preserve environmental resources under the instructions of Mayor, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta & Commissioner, JMC, Miss Avny Lavasa. Mayor, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta alongwith Chairperson, Swacch Bharat Standing Committee, Sh. Suraj Parkash, member Public Health Sanitation Committee Sh. Arun Kumar Khanna, member Swacch Bharat Standing Committee Sh. Gopal Gupta, Councillor Sh. Parmod Kapahi & Sh. Amit Gupta inaugurated the Plantation drive at road leading to 4th Bridge from Hotel Asia, Jammu by planting various medicinal, flowering and ornamental plants in presence of Secretary , JMC, Miss. Tinna Mahajan, Revenue Officers, Sh. Ashwani Sudan, Sh. Sunil Gupta and other officers and officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
The plantation will be conducted under “Clean & Green Jammu” drive over a month between 20.02.2020 to 20.03.2020 at different locations within the Jammu City. The basic idea of plantation drive is to restore and noticeably increase green cover in the city over next few years besides involving the citizens of Jammu in this “Clean & Green Jammu” initiative of the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to all the citizens of Jammu City to come forward and actively participate in the “Clean & Green Jammu” drive to make the drive a great success.
