Jammu municipal Corporation today celebrated 151st birth anniversary of Sh. Mahatma Gandhi Ji, The Father of the Nation in the premises of Jmc. Mayor JMC Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta today took a Swachhta pledge on this occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in the presence of Dy. Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma, Chairperson of swachh Bharat, sh. Suraj parkash, Chairperson of Public Health sanitation, sh. Baldev Singh Billawaria and officers/officials of JMC.
Mayor and Dy. Mayor appealed to the general Public that each and every individual should take this Swachhta Pledge today on this auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti to make their Nation clean and green and also to make our Jammu city also known as city of temples a clean Jammu and green Jammu.
Mayor in his Swachhta pledge asked the people of Jammu to implement the guidelines of Mahatma Gandhi and also the dream of an Indian which was not only free but also clean and developed. Mahatma Gandhi secured freedom for Mother India and now it is our duty to serve Mother India by keeping the country neat and clean.
On this occasion the Mayor also remembered Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji on his 116th birth anniversary. Lal Bahadur Shastri was an Indian politician who served as the second Prime Minister of India. He promoted the white Revolution, a National campaign to increase the production and supply of milk which is a vital component of our day to day life. Mayor said that Lal Bahadur Shastri to be known as a man of great integrity and competence. Lal Bahadur Shastri was deeply influenced by the political teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
