Press Release on 1st April 2021Hon'ble Mayor, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta, Jammu Municipal Corporation chaired the meeting regarding better functioning of Jammu Municipal Corporation and speedy disposal of the grievances of the general public.
Mayor, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta, Jammu Municipal Corporation chaired the meeting of Executive Committee in the Conference Hall of Jammu Municipal Corporation. Commissioner, JMC, Ms. Avny Lavasa also being the ex-Officio Secretary of the Executive Committee remain present in the meeting. The meeting was also attended by the members of the Executive Committee viz Sh. Dinesh Gupta, Miss Bhanu Mahajan, S.Sucha Singh, Sh. Akshay Sharma and Smt. Sunita Gupta. Officers/Officials of JMC also remained present in the meeting.
During the meeting, a number of decisions were taken for better functioning of Jammu Municipal Corporation. Mayor, JMC asked all the officers of JMC to make a mechanism for speedy disposal of the up the problems being faced by the general public. He directed that the Floriculture wing of JMC to be strengthened. Mayor asked the authorities to take various steps to aware general public to form committee themselves for maintenance of parks in their area. He briefed all the Members of Executive Committee that Ward Committees to be constituted. Each Ward Committee shall consist of the member of Municipal Corporation representing the ward, who shall be the Chairperson of the Ward Committee, 10(ten) Electors representing the civil society from the ward to be nominated by the Municipal Corporation. A team/squad to be formed to keep a check on those persons who throwing malba at the garbage dumping sites of JMC even in the night hours. A heavy penalty to be charged from the defaulters. He also appealed to the general public for removing of encroachments from the footpaths and shopkeepers to kept their goods within their shutter lines. A yellow line to be marked in all the commercial areas of Jammu Municipal Corporation to avoid encroachments of roads by the shopkeepers. Mayor also issued instructions to Engineering Wing of JMC to speed up all the ongoing development works and complete them within stipulated time.
Hon’ble Mayor assured all the members that necessary steps shall be taken for smooth functioning of the Corporation and speedy disposal of the grievances of the general public. He also thanked the entire team of JMC for showing their keen interest in resolving the issues of general public.
