Press Release on 2nd June 2022Hon’ble Mayor, Chairmen and Commissioner JMC conducts the tour of Ward No. 52 to review the preparedness before monsoon
The Hon’ble Mayor alongwith Hon’ble Chairmen, Health & Sanitation Committee and Social Justice Committee accompanied by Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Joint Commissioner (W), Supdt. Engineer, UEED Health Officer, Executive Engineer, UEED, Chief Transport Officer alongwith field staff conducted the tour of Ward No. 52 to review the preparedness before the upcoming monsoon to avoid the unnecessary water logging. Areas viz. Friends Colony, South Extn. Ambedkar Nagar etc. of Ward No. 52, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu were visited during the tour.
The Hon’ble Mayor stated that tour was conducted to assess the reasons of water logging to avoid over flooding during the upcoming monsoon season and added that it has been observed that people throw their construction material into nallahs which is a main cause of choking of nallahs. He further stated that JMC is continuously de-silting nallahs to avoid choking of nallahs.
The residents of the ward appreciated the JMC for conducting tour of their ward and also to listen their grievances patiently and residents assured that they shall provide full cooperation to Jammu Municipal Corporation for better well being of the ward.
The Commissioner, JMC further appealed to all residents of the city to come forward and join hands with Jammu Municipal Corporation so that we can jointly work for making our city no. 1 in respect of sanitation scenario and also avoid using of polythene carry bags and throwing of C&D waste into nallahs which is a major cause of choking of nallahs resulting into sufferings for the residents.
