Jammu Municipal Corporation and Bharat petroleum celebrated "Swachhta Pakhwada - Honouring Swachhata Heros / Safai Karamcharis" at Council Hall of Jammu Municipal Corporation on 15.07.2022. The main purpose of the event was to honour the Swacchh Sathis of Jammu Municipal Corporation as they are the key pillars of Sanitation. The anchoring of the event was done by RJ Sarang (91.9 Red FM). In his message, RJ Sarang briefed Swachhta Pakhwada and welcomed dignitaries / guests from JMC and Bharat Petroleum. The initiatives taken by Bharat Petroleum were further briefed by Dignitaries from Bharat petroleum Mr. Sandeep Kumar Raina and Sh. Eshu Kumar. They said that Corporation has actively participated in all the Swachhata Pakhwada's through extended family and has constantly been contributing to innovations and community led practices in the Sanitation and Waste Management Space.
Commissioner JMC - Rahhul Yadav(IAS) also emphasized on the initiatives taken by JMC for Anti plastic and Ban on Single Use Plastic.
Further, Deputy Mayor - Adv. Purnima Sharma said "Safai sathis are the only key to JMC's increased yearly ranking in Swachh Survekshan and
explained the "BYE - BYE PLASIC" campaign initiated by JMC and Honorable Chairmans - Sh. Hardeep Singh Mankotia, Sh. Ajay Gupta Ji and Sh. Raj Kumar Ji emphasized on the appreciation and achievements of the campaign.
A Swachhta pledge was taken by all the dignitaries and Safai sathis present in the event. T-Shirts along with Jute Bags were distributed to all the Staff of BPCL and JMC Safai Sathis.
The programme was concluded with a Vote of thanks by Health Officer JMC - Dr. Vinod Sharma.
