Today Dr. Devansh Yadav, (IAS), Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted a surprise visit in ward no. 25 Rehari Colony Jammu to take stock of sanitation facilities being provided by JMC and also checked the attendance of sanitation staff of the ward and directed the health wing to ensure proper sanitation to every NOOK and Corner of the ward. He interacted with the residents of the ward and requested for public participation and cooperation to maintaining better sanitation in the city. Commissioner appealed the people not to throw the garbage/refuse in the lanes and drains. He emphasized the importance of ensuring proper sanitation in municipal jurisdiction to maintain hygiene and prevent the accumulation of waste, without community involvement is not possible to achieve the goal of swachh Bharat mission up to its desired level.
The Commissioner also instructed the Health and Sanitation wing of JMC to regularly verify the attendance of sanitation workers through App to ensure the punctuality so that efficient service delivery is ensured, adding that any lapses in maintaining sanitation would not be tolerated. He directed the sanitation staff to clean lanes and drains on regular basis to avoid accumulation of refuse in the wards so that the rank of the Jammu City is improved in respect of swachhta sarvekshan.
